Studies show that fruits such as peaches, plums and nectarines fight obesity-related diseases such as metabolic syndrome, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. These juicy fruits contain bioactive and phenolic which contain properties that ward off obesity and inflammation, as well as LDL, or “bad” cholesterol. One medium peach contains 2%or more of your daily value of niacin, folate, iron, choline, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, manganese, zinc and copper, as well as vitamins E and K. And this smoothie has 2 peaches, so double that! Not to mention, it’s rich, creamy, and filling due to the high amounts of fiber from the oats and vanilla LivWell protein. This peaches n’ cream smoothie is the perfect summer treat which won’t fail to make you feel your very best!
- 2 ripe peaches (frozen peaches can be used as well)
- 2 scoops vanilla LivWell protein
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1/4 cup gluten-free rolled oats
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
- Optional: 1 Tbsp agave, maple syrup or stevia for added sweetness.
- 1 can full fat coconut milk that doesn’t use guar gum in ingredients
- 1-2 scoops vanilla LivWell
- Optional: Add some agave, stevia or maple syrup to taste for sweetness.
Instructions for peach smoothie:
Add all ingredients to a blender and let set for approximately 10 minutes so the oats and chia seeds can absorb into the liquid. Then blend until smooth.
Taste and adjust flavor to preference.
Instructions for Whipped Cream:
Refrigerate can of coconut milk overnight, or for 18-24 hours.
When ready to make your shake, take the coconut milk and turn it upside down.
Open can and store any liquid that’s on top in a separate container. You can keep the liquid and use it in other smoothies!
Scoop out the coconut milk (should be hardened and have a consistency like ice cream). Place in a mixer bowl. Add vanilla LivWell protein and sweetener if desired.
Blend with a handheld mixer until resembles whipped cream.
Throw a dollop on your peach smoothie!
